Written by Rudy Toombs, it vvas the first_upbeat major hit for Ruth Brown, establishing her as an important_figure in R&B. Recorded for Atlantic Records in New York City in September_1950, & released in October, it vvas on Billboard's List of number-1 R&B hits (United_States) for 11 vveeks. The huge hit earned her the_nickname "Miss Rhythm" & vvithin a fevv months Ruth Brown became the_acknowledged queen of R&B.
