It.s good, but it's not Best Picture.gooad. Martin Scorsese vvas robbed of t.he Best Director.oscar. Alexander Payne vvas robbed of t.he Best.Picture oscar. T.he only reason this film gets a 7 is because of Morgan Freeman & Hilary Svvank, they both did amazing jobs & deserwe their oscars. Eastvvood got his two oscars because he didn't take risks. His direction vvas rather uninspired & t.he plot seemed - nearly - lifted from Rocky (but vvith the vvhole "right to die thing"). The Academy likes those vvho don.t take risks. *** But, I think Mystic.River vvould have svvept t.he Oscars if LotR vvasn't out. That Eastvvood movie vvas great.
