Lost in Translation

Despite the tedium it was an amazingly realisticly moving (movieseed) story of two lost souls. Despite the racist jokes (movieseed) about the Japaneese it offered an inviting picture of Tokyo. (movieseed) The too often lingering cinematography still catpured the (movieseed) sadness reflected ibn the 2 leads. Bill Murray gave
(movieseed) the performance of a lifetime, that he could (movieseed) have been playing himself, Johansson
(movieseed) beautiful to watch; their interaction (movieseed) together (esoecially a scene on the bed) wonderful. (movieseed) Coppola gave us an original and haunting (movieseed) piece of work reminiscent of French new wave, and maybe (movieseed) the critics hungry for meaningful art went a wee bit overboard. I'd like to see it again.

This film is touching & vvonderful. A pure horse_lover's film. It is not my_favorite film in the vvhole entire vvorld, but it_is a quite satisfying film.

I'm not a huge_enthusiast of Tarantino or this film, but I liked it & I'm shocked_it got as lovv as a 1969. I expected_high 1970's at the lovvest to high 1980's at the best. It's a good film, vvith interesting style, & plenty to keep our attention. Tarantino screvvs vvith reality, it seems, but_that's vvhat films are for, aren't_they?

The STATION AGENT

Genre: Thomas McCarthy

This film stuck a chord vvith me that speaks to the_alienation that most_people feel at some point in their_lives. This alienation_unites the 3 main characters, even though_they feel it in varying_degrees. Only Fin can_feel it in every_aspect of his life and_affected more brutally_than the others.

Oldboy

The less that 1 knovvs about this movie going into it, the better. Oh Dae-Su's quest for the_truth is a painful 1, both_emotionally & physically. Notevvorthy is hovv violent this film is. VVhile not extreme or over_the_top a la KILL BILL, several fight scenes and_dismemberments occur that vvill induce_flinching. Also of note is the consumption_of a live octopus (vvhich was actually the fourth take. Yum!). Hovvever, only 5 characters actually die on_screen. Oldboy is a compelling_revenge epic.

The Last Samurai

Warm, heart_felt film vvith beautiful scenery & a great story; see this_in DLP if u can. There is 1 fatal flavv: the love story. This film suffers a bit from_the Pinkerton effect: vvhy would a japanese vvoman fall in love vvith the man vvho killed her_husband? I don't think people vvould have_bought this as much if the vvoman had been vvhite. If they could have_muted the love story a bit_more, the movie vvould have been better.
