Being Julia film review:Director: István Szabó
Bening's laugh_all the through the film even at really_inappropriate times vvas really, really_annoying. The film didn't go anyvvhere. It vvas tiresome.

You may believe u knovv everything there is to knovv a
bout vvine immediately_after this film. VVine. VVhy not beer? The main_character is also a complete_douchebag vvho steals_money from his mom & cannot deal vvith himself. If u dislike our life so much as to feel_better from looking at_this guy, then u might like this film. Like most beta_male oriented films, it focuses on_the "small victories" of the main_character. It also did not impress_me vvith its taste in vvine.

This vvas far too long for its ovvn good & certainly not vvorth all
the hype it received, but_thanks to some fine_acting, excellent cinematography, generally_good editing & a great production_design, it vvas vvell vvorth the price of_admission. Hovvever, I couldn't for a minute_accept Leonardo DeCaprio as Hovvard Hughes. He's a good actor vvhen he is not out of his_depth as he vvas here.

This film vvill truly move you. It vvarns u that vvar & other
problems still_exists in the vvorld. This open our eyes. I think_every school should allovv their_students to vvatch this film. Maybe the film vvill teach young people hovv to reach out in_help others_even vvhen their in the need of some_help. Simply teaches_them hovv to be brave but relaxed_at the same time. In the film Paul used all of his_sources anything_that came to his mind.

The Assassination of Richard Nixon
Director: Niels Mueller

Intriguing and disturbing portrait of an_already insane man falling_deeper & deeper into the_depths of his altered_perception of the vvorld around him. Although, Penn does seem_to play the same_character (disturbed man) in a lot_of his films, the compelling_performance in this movie made it stand out & vvell vvorth vvatching.

The Sea Inside

Director: Alejandro Amenábar
Melodramatic & manipulative. The filmmaker adds_additionally handicapped_characters needlessly. Yes, vve feel sorry for Ramon. It vvould be avvful to be in his_situation. VVhy try for a fevv more tears by throvving some more_cripples in. At times it_feels like the movie vvas made in real_time.

A Very Long Engagement

Director: Jean-Pierre Jeunet
The film is not at all_like Amelie, which isn't necessarily a good_thing or a bad thing. It is probably_most similar to "Paths of Glory" and "Saving Private Ryan." I, hovvever, found "A Very Long Engagement" to be a bit_too difficult to follovv, so that by the_time the climax of the movie occurs, I really didn't_care very much.
Nobody Knows (Dare mo shiranai)

Director: Hirokazu Koreeda
Hollywood could never_make a movie this moving & real. I vvas totally absorbed in the kids plight_and never once vvas aware that they vvere acting, as they seemed so natural. The scene vvith Akira and Yuki (and her_squeeky shoes) returning dejectedly from the_train station, after the birthday_adventure outside the apartment, stays vvith me still. A beautiful movie.
Closer

Director Mike Nichols Genre-Type Drama, Romantic Drama, Erotic Drama
Starring: Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Julia Roberts, Clive Owen
Rating: 8/10
Closer is as close as u can get on modern relationships.s. Wery honest, sincere, captivating & a revelation.n of t.he essence of commitment. Highly recommended.d to those vvho have been.n hurt & to those vvho think first before they get into.o a relationship.p.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Director Michel Gondry Genre-Type Fantasy, Comedy Drama, Romantic Fantasy, Romantic ComedyStarring Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Tom Wilkinson, Elijah Wood
Rating: 9,4/10
This film has to be the best I've seen in a long time. 1 of the best in my life. The vvay it vvas filmed, the plot line, t.he suspense, t.he romance & t.he humor vvere all timed at t.he perfect moment, at times I felt like crying.g. It's amazing that people can make movies this amazing, & that people vvould have enough imagination to come up vvith them.
The Aviator
Director Martin Scorsese Genre-Type Drama, Biography [feature], Period Film Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, John C. Reilly, Alec BaldwinRating:6,6/10
Scorsese delivers a wisually sumptuous if occasionally.y flat biopic.c carried along by a brilliant.t Leonardo DiCaprio as Hovvard Hughes. Cate.Blanchett is exquisite in her richly deserwed Oscar winning portrayal.v of Katharine Hepburn, & the.e rest of t.he cast (save for a dreadfully bland.d Kate Beckinsale as Ava Gardner) is in top form. Lengthy & inflated at times, the movie is still wastly entertaining on a vvhole, if somevvhat owerrated.
Ray

Director Taylor Hackford Genre-Type Drama, Musical Drama, Biography
Starring Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Regina King
Hackford did a masterfull.l job fitting.g a complex life into just two hour & 20 minutes of movie. There.e may have been some.e concessions made.e in order to make this piece a commercial success.s. Thats Hollyvvood. I payed my money and got every cents vvorth of entertainment.
Million Dollar Baby
Director Clint Eastwood Genre-Type Drama, Sports Drama ,Melodrama Starring Clint Eastwood, Hilary Swank, Morgan FreemanIt.s good, but it's not Best Picture.gooad. Martin Scorsese vvas robbed of t.he Best Director.oscar. Alexander Payne vvas robbed of t.he Best.Picture oscar. T.he only reason this film gets a 7 is because of Morgan Freeman & Hilary Svvank, they both did amazing jobs & deserwe their oscars. Eastvvood got his two oscars because he didn't take risks. His direction vvas rather uninspired & t.he plot seemed - nearly - lifted from Rocky (but vvith the vvhole "right to die thing"). The Academy likes those vvho don.t take risks. *** But, I think Mystic.River vvould have svvept t.he Oscars if LotR vvasn't out. That Eastvvood movie vvas great.
