Everyone Else

review: A beautiful and compelling take on (domestic comedy) the vagaries of love in a mismatched couple. (summer-vacation) It is the mismatch that I found so interesting; She is rough around the edges, (strictly speaking) he has an aristocratic bearing, sometimes even ashamed (only human) of her; But people in love sometimes do unpredictable things, (competition) and I was thrown way off by the knife episode which I found ambiguously (original foreign title) implausible, barring a more serious (publicity) clinical reason, which was not inferred. 80/100

Black Waters of Echo's Pond, The (2010 movie, videos, screens)

review: Possibly the WORST movie to ever hit theatres. It's movies like this that unfortunately give the Supernatural Horror genre a bad name.

After.Life (2010)

review: This film was a waste of celluloid, (near death) and my admission fee. Save yourself (film starts with sex) some money and see something else.

Greenberg

review: Ben Stiller is wonderfully (existential crisis) believable as Greenberg. Some of the back and forth between Greenberg (fish out of water) and his brother, Greenberg and the 20 something crowd, (men's friendship) and Greenberg and various friends who haven't seen (anxiety) him for 15 years is worth watching.

Prodigal Sons

review: Great and thought-provoking. (interpersonal relationships) It's reality...no, make that a sort of hyper-reality...that's (estrangement) stranger than fiction. And the movie leaves u with a altogether (reconciliation) new sense of the challenges and importance of family. Powerful stuff.

Clash of the Titans

review: Epic story, over condensed, (sword-and-sandal) with too much focus on action that quite frankly sucked. (man-vs-gods) This film was terrible. (princess) I expected it to be less (Mythological Fantasy) than good going in, and was still very disappointed. The 3D was nothing special either.

How to Train Your Dragon

review: Truely amazing, this film is the first (children's fantasy) good non-Pixar CGI animated film since Kung Fu Panda (Fathers and Sons). It is a true marvel, and the main dragon, Toothless, really tops it off (unlikely heroes) with his cute/action packed nature. It is a charmer, yet also filled with (mythical creatures) tons of action and an in-depth story that (atmospheric) truely is not something to be missed.
